SESSIONS AT SANTA'S!

This week's SESSIONS presented by SPENCER SWEENEY and STEREOGUM is just around the corner and what a better way to look forward to it than to gaze back at the illuminated, fun-filled mess of a party that happened last week! Quite possibly the best and weirdest Tuesday night on the planet, SESSIONS is a trash bag littered habitat that would make Oscar the Grouch swoon. The amazing DANIEL HIGGS and NATHAN BELL performed separate sets while ANDREW WK looked on through a hole he ripped in one of the draping garbage bags.

PARTY HARD!

MORE PHOTOS FROM THE NIGHT.

It was mayhem at SANTOS on Friday night and I'm about to explain why using only two words. Well, 2 words and initials. 2 1/2 words? Whatever . . . The first word is FREE. Yeah, I know, already amazing. And the second word is ANDREW W.K.! . . . Pick yourself up off the floor, you can't see the pictures or video from there! Ok, get it together. What follows is my firsthand account of all the awesomeness that was brought to Santos by ADULT SWIM. Oh and CHEESEBURGER played as well and I nearly drowned in beer during their set.

If they're not already nominated I'd like to submit Andrew and Cherie for coolest couple on the planet. Look at them!

Fact: You can't just invite one person onstage. Everyone else gets super jealous.

My lovely friend Noel [who brought me handwarmers while I was working the door!] shot this crazy video of "Party Hard" from the crowd ... check it out!

The New York City Rescue Mission

At 10:30am, Thursday, December 11, 2008, Santos Party House, along with the incredible help and generosity of Jerry Rosenbaum and his wife, Rebecca, donated hundreds of brand new winter coats, vests, and children's books to The New York City Rescue Mission, located next door to Santos Party House, on Lafayette Street, in NYC. The donation was made in the spirit of good holiday cheer, and neighborly community spirit. Bag after bag of beautiful flannel coats were brought in by Santa Santos and his little helpers from the Santos Party House team, including Giulietta, Alan, Mike, Andrew, and Jerry and Rebecca.

The New York City Rescue Mission is America's oldest rescue mission, founded in 1872. Located on the corner of Lafayette and White streets, the mission provides spiritual hope, food, clothing and shelter to people in crisis in New York City. Their model has been replicated by 300 rescue missions throughout the country. Santos is pleased to support their efforts to give loving kindness to the people of the neighborhood and the surrounding city.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS and THANK YOU!
