As a founder his own techno club and working at the legendary German Eye-Q Records, Chris Liebling was a well established entrepreneur in the world of electronic music by the late 90’s. His professional endeavors earned him the contacts, while honed his producing and remixing behind the scenes and built a following via his residencies at cult favorite dance clubs. As his club audiences grew, so did his platform to promote insanely infectious and pulsating deep techno grooves. He has become an Ibiza favorite, and a remixer by trade who has worked with the likes of DK8, Alex Bau and Sarah Walker. He is an international favorite and a creator whose music unites the most disparate of techno crowds, and the founder of CL-Records. He embodies the entrepreneurial spirit that drives the world of techno and elevates the dance floor.

Desyn Masiello is an artist with a mission far beyond making asses shake. His goal is to elevate consciousness by fostering a sonic atmosphere of transcendental celebration (a good match for Santos!). Beginning in the late 90’s as a lover of trance and progressive house, he would pass out his own home spun mixes which over a year’s time hit the ears of the most influential people in dance music the world over. Soon he was an internationally booked DJ and co-owner of the Alternative Route and Sexonwax record labels. His collection Balance 008 was named “Best Compilation” by Uk’s M8 magazine. Masiello is also a party rocking wizard whose sets combine selections from nearly all facets of house music. His tireless work ethic has earned him the title “the man that never sleeps” as awarded by John Digweed.

Sander Kleinenberg at Dance.Here.Too

Progressive house heavyweight Sander Kleinenberg cites Jellybean Benitez, who has also headlined at Dance. Here. Too., as one of his influences. He is known for his audio visual mixing which adds to the electric drama of his act. Focused on infectious bass lines and funky vocals, Kleinenberg is a big room favorite around the world. He boasts eight critically acclaimed studio albums as well as remixes for Eurythmics, Vincent de Moor, Röyksopp, Justin Timerlake and Janet Jackson.

Openers Sleepy & Boo are all about stripping the electronica scene of inflated pretention and filling it with a carefree, fun-obsessed attitude, not to mention the best in trance and techno. When not perusing their DJ monikers, aptly lifted from Super Mario, they are Basic NYC, grinding promoters of the city's illest deep house parties.

Dance.Here.Too, the city's most important weekly for futuristic house with an old-school vibe, will be bringing stacking the decks with a master of drops.

Funkagenda boasts an extremely nuanced yet anthemic approach to his thumping techno grooves. Starting as a programmer for his father's performances, he was heavily involved in recording, playing in rock bands and creating solo 4-tracks until Voodoo Ray introduced him to dance music and the techonlogical revolutions therein. His complete repurposing of samples reflects his ability to blend a enormous range of vibes and emotions during his DJ sets. He has a wide crossover appeal into other subgenres of underground dance music including trip-hop, downtempo, and tribal dance. Artists for whom he has remixed include Radiohead, Guitarra G, Basement Jaxx, Daft Punk, Bat For Lashes, Moby and Michael Cleveland.

ZOMBI
Known to the rock and roll community as Relapse Records’ prog-tronica wildcard, Zombi are the culmination of dense, intricately constructed synths and strings over intense polyrhythms. For just a duo, consisting of Steve Moore on keys and bass and Anthony E. Paterra on drums, they produce an immense sound that summons the furthest extremes of their roots metal, no-wave and electronic scenes. They have hit the stage alongside a diverse array of intelligent music purveyors including Don Caballero, Isis, The Psychic Paramount and Trans Am. Their third album Spirit Animal has been noted as their piece de resistance, of which The Needle Drop remarked, “Nothing is worse than great ideas presented badly, and this album clears that hurdle with ease.”

ARP
Alexis Georgopoulos (American, b. 1974) is a composer and artist based in New York City. As ARP, he makes hypnogogic, minimal music, most often with analog synthesizers and, increasingly, classical stringed instruments. Since 2002, he has performed internationally and has been presented in such spaces as PS1, Deitch Projects, MOMA (SF), 303 Gallery, Luggage Store Gallery, Jack Hanley Gallery, New Langton Arts, Yerba Buena Center and Frieze Art Fair. He has released work on DFA, Smalltown Supersound, Troubleman Unlimited, Rong, Eskimo, Lo, Root Strata, White Columns & Deitch Projects labels. He has remixed Lawrence Wiener, Lindstrom and Shocking Pinks and has been remixed by Hot Chip, Munk, Optimo and Soft Pink Truth. He is also a member of the groups Q&A (DFA), The ALPS (Type/Mexican Summer) and founded the group Tussle, which he departed in 2007. ARP has also been the in-house sound artist for the REPLICA exhibit at the New Museum.

BLK JKS "Mololatladi" video premiers!

Not long ago our friends BLK JKS, the afro-prog-psych-noise-dub troup that is blazing trails in the US after years of ruling Johannesburg, shot a little sumpin-sumpin in our downstairs level. That footage has been lovingly spliced with some keen shots of Coney Island and scenes from the harrowing documentary Sanza-Hanza, resulting is a dope video for a brilliant track.
