CHRIS LIEBLING 7/3 - TICKETS HERE Photobucket
DESYN MASIELLO 7/24 - TICKETS HERE

As a founder his own techno club and working at the legendary German Eye-Q Records, Chris Liebling was a well established entrepreneur in the world of electronic music by the late 90’s. His professional endeavors earned him the contacts, while honed his producing and remixing behind the scenes and built a following via his residencies at cult favorite dance clubs. As his club audiences grew, so did his platform to promote insanely infectious and pulsating deep techno grooves. He has become an Ibiza favorite, and a remixer by trade who has worked with the likes of DK8, Alex Bau and Sarah Walker. He is an international favorite and a creator whose music unites the most disparate of techno crowds, and the founder of CL-Records. He embodies the entrepreneurial spirit that drives the world of techno and elevates the dance floor.

Desyn Masiello is an artist with a mission far beyond making asses shake. His goal is to elevate consciousness by fostering a sonic atmosphere of transcendental celebration (a good match for Santos!). Beginning in the late 90’s as a lover of trance and progressive house, he would pass out his own home spun mixes which over a year’s time hit the ears of the most influential people in dance music the world over. Soon he was an internationally booked DJ and co-owner of the Alternative Route and Sexonwax record labels. His collection Balance 008 was named “Best Compilation” by Uk’s M8 magazine. Masiello is also a party rocking wizard whose sets combine selections from nearly all facets of house music. His tireless work ethic has earned him the title “the man that never sleeps” as awarded by John Digweed.

KID SISTER
Melissa Young, between working a plethora of retail shifts and wedging a toehold in the world of cinema, spent her youth as a recognizable personality on the Chicago house scene. With a brother in the internationally famous DJ team Flosstradamus, stunning looks and wits beyond her years, she was positioned well for her own musical endeavors, though her approachable attitude distinguished her from the average club diva. In 2005 she began her rap career as Kid Sister, and in 2007 she had her first single “Control,” produced by XXXChange (Spank Rock) released through Fool’s Gold. Her 2009 album Ultraviolet on Downtown Records hit 20 on the AllmusicUS Top Rap Album charts, and featured many other genre-benders including Kanye West and Cee-Lo Green.

Kid Sister’s producers have also included A-Trak and Sinden, meaning her beats are friendly to clubgoers and hip-hop heads alike. “I think that even if you're making music that's a little bit different, everyone should be included,” Young says. “I used to be the fat girl, and I'm biracial, so I know how it feels to be something that's other-and it doesn't feel good. “ Neo-disco and rave textures are prominent in the mix, but Young’s raps take center stage. Lyrically understated and rhythmically inclined, her style could land her a spot as the third Cool Kid or the first Beastie Girl. She already owns the Chicago scene, and her headlining gig at Santos Party House will be a milestone for both her and New York’s hungry party people.

D.I.M.
No subgenre of dance music is safe from D.I.M.’s pan-electronica amalgamations. At the forefront are the drum and bass lines, hinting at dubstep, built beneath sly techno grooves. Few can match the finesse with which he switches up his drops, incorporating techno and trance elements, and keeping the dancefloor guessing. Boasting prominent remixes for Fischerspooner, Jape and Teenage Bad Girl, he currently is repping Berlin’s Boys Noize label.

Resident FIXED DJ’s Josh Houtkin and Dave Pianka are insidious masterminds of programming and promotion with knowledge of dancefloor dynamics unmatched by any other team in the metropolis. Now they're bringing us the weekly party New York has been waiting for, on the only sound system that can do it justice.

DISCOVERY: U-Tern with residents VDRK and Free Magic
Saturday, May 8, 2010
11:00 PM 21+
RSVP HERE

Named “Best New Party” by the L Magazine, Discovery is a “fun first” party dedicated to electronica-based neo-disco. Bright, bassy and fancy-free, the party combines the funky aesthetic of the 70’s with techno and synth-pop. Resident DJ’s VDRK and Free Magic are mix virtuosos who hold down one of the best crowds in nightlife history.

Joining them for the night is U-Tern, producer of intricate electro-disco whose influence comes from the origins of disco and early house, the likes of Jellybean Benitez, Gap Band and Prince. His technique, however, is straight futuristic, splicing whirlwind synth lines with complex broken beats. Aside from his brilliantoriginal production, his remixes and edits have earned him a loved spot in the scene, and he takes especially well to classic, soulful material (his Marvin Gaye mix is off the chain).

When the promotional duo FIXED sets up shop at Santos Party House, what occurs are some of the most unspeakably raucous parties New York City has ever witnessed. Resident FIXED DJ’s Josh Houtkin and Dave Pianka are insidious masterminds of programming and promotion with knowledge of dancefloor dynamics unmatched by any other team in the metropolis. Also hitting the decks is Lee Curtiss, whose new EP on the aphrodisiatic Get Physical label Love In The Key Of Freak has received almost as much love from the critics as it has from the dance floor. His catalog also boasts releases on Spectral and Wolf + Lamb, and his R4=M,N,O,P collection (Rhumba) is loved for its wrenching portrayal of inter-personal themes through house and neo-disco. Equally notable are his official remix spots for international sensations like Butane and Pheek.

Rocking the basement level is DJ/Producer Eli Escobar, protégé of Bobbito Garcia and beat provider for the likes of MIA, Amanda Blank and The Glass. A mastermind of urban dance music, he has the most discerning palette for electro and hip-hop in their myriad varieties. This week, headlining upstairs is genius of electronica Matthew Dear, whose production work freely shifts from minimal house to electro-pop freely and cleverly. He has been tapped for remixes by the likes of The Chemical Brothers, blackstrobe, Hot Chip and Postal Service.

FIXED Presents: Aeroplane + Blondes and Annie Mac, NEW RESIDENCY in April!

When the promotional duo FIXED sets up shop at Santos Party House, what occurs are some of the most unspeakably raucous parties New York City has ever witnessed. Those who were misfortunate enough to miss their Basement Jaxx or Boys Noize nights have hopefully overcome the guilt and shame, and will now have a chance to redeem themselves to their dancing shoes. Resident FIXED DJ’s Josh Houtkin and Dave Pianka are insidious masterminds of programming and promotion with knowledge of dancefloor dynamics unmatched by any other team in the metropolis. With a couple ill one-offs and a residency in the works for Santos Party House, they have hitched (fixed?) their star to the city’s most noted soundsystem.

March 16th with AEROPLANE (Belgium) and Blondes (NYC) live
10PM doors, 21+TICKETS AVAILABLE HERE

AEROPLANE
Javelo, the Brussels-raised duo consisting of Stephen Fasano & Vito De Luca, were burning along nicely in Europe, their production grace shining on numerous 12” most notably “Spleen” and their famous remix of Thomas Sari’s “Tom Hustler.” But they were dissatisfied that their lifelong dedication to multi-instrumentalism had not taken a more prominent role. So they regrouped in 2007, naming themselves Aeroplane as a dig against the bass-obsessed electro scene and as a statement that airy, spaced-out composition was to be the key element of their sound.

Continuing their 12” spree, Aeroplane unleashed charting original jams, like the brutally infectious disco-psych smash “Pacific Air Race,” as well as heavily rotated official remixes for Grace Jones, MGMT and Sebastien Tellier to name a few. Their DJ sets are as seamlessly arranged as their tracks, blending in the best of house and electro with the more esoteric feels of balaeric, italo and trance. MixMag named them the #1 breakthrough of 2009, and they have become highly demanded festival acts, appearing at the gigantic European Creamfield and Parklife gatherings.

"Brazil (Aeroplane Remix)" - Doves (c/o Indiecent Music)

BLONDES
Zach Steinman and Sam Haar started Blondes as a way to fill the Oberlin College atmosphere with minimalistic analog electro set to untamed dancegrooves. XLR8R predicts, "With a spacey aesthetic and a loose, analog techno sound, their forthcoming EP on Merok will certainly be a hot commodity when it drops in the months ahead."

"Moondance" - Blondes (c/o Grey Gardens)

March 18th with ANNIE MAC (UK/Ireland)
10PM doors, 21+TICKETS AVAILABLE HERE

Hand-picked from the throbbing Dublin scene, Annie MacManus’ enthusiasm for dance music earned her a position heading publicity at the notorious Shine club, polishing her turntablism skills all the while. She eventually found herself on a number of London’s dance radio stations, and finally rocking a worldwide crowd on BBC’s Radio One. Her selection and hosting skills are featured on Annie Mac’s Mash Up, at the high-traffic Friday 7pm slot, as well as the Sunday evening BBC Switch show. The British press coyly praises her DJ sets as “rather hectic,” filled with high-octane revelry and slick moves, packing out venues like Fabric, Moles and numerous universities.

So may it begin. Your new Thursday night routine features rotating cast of the slickest electro artists worldwide, plus ELI ESCOBAR spinning clever house, electro and hip-hop bangers free of cover charge. One half of internationally renowned M.A.N.D.Y., Philipp Jung simply has a knack for making bodies move. He and his partner Patrick Bodmer's highly successful and influential label is ever so aptly titled Get Physical, and I think you know what that means. Their shared musical proclivities invite you to be present with a symbiosis of complexity and elegance. An interpretation of classical elements through modern mediums is just the kind of paradox our fiery hearts long for--a vacillation between bright and dark, clean and dirty, soft and hard, tense and released. Furthermore, Philipp's on-stage antics demonstrate an enthusiasm for the craft that is infectious by nature and will surely find you wherever wander. If you aren't yet privy to this caliber of experience, the time is now.

Rob Fernandez & Benny Soto, the promoters behind award-winning shindig Dance.Here.Now., are proud to present Dance.Here.Too. A new concept in weekend fun that adapts the music-first DHN vibe to a party after which you don’t have to wake up for work.

BLKMARKET MEMBERSHIP 1/28. An underground party surfaces... underground...

BLKMARKET MEMBERSHIP presents LUNA CITY EXPRESS
Thursday, January 28 11:00PM 21+
$10 with RSVP to
LEADER@BLKMARKETMEMBERSHIP.COM

BLKMARKET MEMBERSHIP, the party architects known for setting fire to numerous "secret locations," are breaking tradition and revealing Santos Party House as their target this Thursday night. Sound like resident DJ's Taimur+Fahad have something major up their sleeve. Marco Resmann, of the Berlin dubtronica tycoons LUNA CITY EXPRESS, will be in the house celebrating the launch of their new album Hello From Planet Earth, already hailed by critics as "a more impressive sound than ever - reflecting both their respect and passion for house music." Expect the deepest of house, mind-expanding techno, and dark electro madness. We're pumped to be collaborating with one of the most important forces in underground dance as they orchestrate this milestone.

Luna City Express‘ epic debut at Santo’s Party House via Blkmarket Membership is more than just a good reason to leave the house, it is the cultural underpinnings of a legendary meeting between underground and above ground avenues of expression. Marco Resmann was well on his way to cult stardom as Phage when he met Norman Weber and the world was offered Luna City Express. A collective concoction of downbeat, trip hop, and deep house proclivities, the duo understands how to be both timeless and innovative, classic and contemporary. As in all artistic endeavors, the whole is greater than its parts and Luna City Express just might lead you to a dance floor that tugs at your heart.

Along for the ride are the Blkmarket Membership residents, Taimur+Fahad. They boys have had a massive year, bringing in the best of the best to play their ever growing party. Their mission from the get go has been, 'to bring in talent that inspires us as DJ's.' That simple policy has guided them and it's no wonder why their party is amongst the best in the U.S at the moment. They have had the opportunity to be heard and have earned the respect of many who regard them as some of New York City's finest DJ's in the techno scene. They will be opening up for Luna City Express on this evening.

Dance.Here.Too, the city's most important weekly for futuristic house with an old-school vibe, will be bringing stacking the decks with a master of drops.

Funkagenda boasts an extremely nuanced yet anthemic approach to his thumping techno grooves. Starting as a programmer for his father's performances, he was heavily involved in recording, playing in rock bands and creating solo 4-tracks until Voodoo Ray introduced him to dance music and the techonlogical revolutions therein. His complete repurposing of samples reflects his ability to blend a enormous range of vibes and emotions during his DJ sets. He has a wide crossover appeal into other subgenres of underground dance music including trip-hop, downtempo, and tribal dance. Artists for whom he has remixed include Radiohead, Guitarra G, Basement Jaxx, Daft Punk, Bat For Lashes, Moby and Michael Cleveland.

Saturday (1/9/2010) Dance.Here.Too: HECTOR ROMERO, Sleepy & Boo and more!

DANCE.HERE.TOO
with Hector Romero, Sleepy & Boo, System Audible & Stimulus Response (downstairs)
January 9, 2010 11:00PM 21+
TICKETS HERE

Benny Soto and Rob Fernandez' DANCE.HERE.TOO set out to "bring back Saturday night." If reviving the weekend requires the most important minds in house and electronica spinning for a vibrant room boasting a thick, unpretentious crowd, then they've succeeded on a weekly basis since late November. This week they've got some fire talent this Friday, a full lineup of career party-rockers taking over both floors with some nicely articulated bass, warm mids and measured but assertive highs.

Hector Romero is a lifetime selector. While there's always a risk of a lackluster sets from producers and remixers who treat DJ sets like an obligatory chore, Romero has dedicated his life to assembling his repertoire and crafting taylor-made mixes specifically to the audience present. He is known as the operating management arm of Satosh Tomiie's Def Mix and SAW Recordings, and the international tastemaker for house, techno and electro heads. He rocks New York as easily as he does Ibiza, Spain, Italy, Greece or Canada. Those in attendance will have the pleasure of experiencing the artisanal sound experience.

Openers Sleepy & Boo are all about stripping the electronica scene of inflated pretention and filling it with a carefree, fun-obsessed attitude, not to mention the best in trance and techno. When not perusing their DJ monikers, aptly lifted from Super Mario, they are Basic NYC, grinding promoters of the city's illest deep house parties.

Live-mixing, effects and sinister synths define the unique sound of the four System Audible DJ’s. They’ve made a point to have “positivity” as their focal point, tailor-making their selections to the needs of any crowd.

The Stimulus Response team are all about the juxtaposition of the collective and individual, bringing their wild and diverse tastes and uniting them under a soulful house and techno umbrella. They have performed alongside legends such as Oscar G, Tedd Patterson, Richie Santana, and Peter Bailey.

AN HOUR OF 2-FOR-1 DRINKS STARTS AT 10PM!!!

A true innovator never stops inventing. The hallmark of a creative spirit is that it continues to buck the status quo long after a name is made. Derrick May and François Kevorkian, together the COSMIC TWINS, establish monikers almost as quickly as they do musical tropes.

May (aka Mayday and Rhythim is Rythim) began his mythical career in Detroit during the late 80's alongside his high school friends, house/deep disco pioneers Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson. They called their brand of heavily synthesized, dancefloor-ready jams "techno" perhaps the only name that has truly stuck. His signature sub-genre is Hi-Tek Soul, the blending of modern American soul, blues and funk with the tambours of classic European electronica.

While May was transforming the the world of house, French ex-pat Francois K had already built up a rep for his home spun tape edits and high profile remixes. His take on Kraftwerk's "Tour De France" led to his official status as mixer on the group's 1986 album Electric Café, a role he would reprise for the likes of Depeche Mode and Erasure. His production and official remix credits include artists like Musique, U2, Goldfrappe, King Crimson, The Cure, Diana Ross, The Smiths and The Eurythmics. His incorporation of dub atmospherics into deep electronic disco is heard in the sets of DJ's the world over.

The Cosmic Twins recount their reunification (separated at astral birth) to TimeOut Magazine thus:
“When I first met François—I forget when it was, but it was a while back—it was at some little bar in London where he was deejaying just for fun,” May recalls. “But he was still really doing it, like François always does, experimenting and really getting into it. Of course, I knew about his history with Kraftwerk and everything else he’s done, and I went to him to introduce myself. I said, ‘François Kevorkian?’ And he said, [In a gruff voice] ‘Derrick May.…’ I was like, Wow, it’s so cool he knows who I am!” (When told this story, François simply says “Oh, c’mon—how would I not know who he was?”) It’s evident that the two make up a mutual-admiration society. “I’ve always been in awe of Derrick’s overall skills,” François says, “not just deejaying, but music making as well. He’s a very forward-thinking individual, and that shows in everything he does.”

We're totally pumped that Benny Soto & Robpromotions brought us this rare and incredible opportunity. Santos Party House believes wholeheartedly that this is exactly how you bring back Saturday night. Original house heads will be turning out the stunts while intrepid young electro pilgrims find true love. This is why you build a club.

And if doesn't have you drooling uncontrollably yet, Dance.Here.Too is back next week (January 2) with special guest STEVE LAWLER! Get your tickets here ($10 early birds - limited supply!!!).

A very BOYS NOIZE Halloween tomorrow night with FIXED, POCKETKNIFE, C'MISH and DON VU

BOYS NOISE with resident JDH, Pockenife, C'mish and Don VU
October 31, 2009 10:00 PM
[ADVANCE TICKETS SOLD OUT. TICKETS AVAILABLE WHEN DOORS OPEN.]

BOYS NOIZE

European techno often carries a benign and effete stigma, but musical prodigy and entrepreneur Alex Ridha , or BOYS NOIZE to you, presents dense and blisteringly percussive motifs that are meant to stimulate the mind and dancing shoe. Bolstered by his training as a pianist and percussionist, Boys Noize has broken from the confines of Berlin electro and has rapidly burst onto the international scene with his underground club appeal and his flair for the remix, not to mention the love he’s receiving from other mix virtuosos like Erol Alkan and A-Trak as they mine his tracks in tribute. His new album Power is out today, with the lead-off single “Starter” trailblazing the internet and driving beat junkies to any dancefloor he touches.

The student of Berlin electro cult figure D.I.M., Ridha was a mere 24 years old when his first LP Oi Oi Oi saw worldwide release in 2007. His timing could not have been better, as his remixes for Bloc Party’s “Banquet” and Kaiser Chiefs “Every Day I Love You Less and Less” were winning over the most influential club DJ’s with internet access. Aside from his own Boysnoize record lable, his material has been published by DJ Hell’s Deejay Gigolos label, Tiga’s Turbo Recordings label and Kitsuné Music. His track “& Down” was featured in the Grand Theft Auto IV (which set record debut sales). He has traded off remixes with other composer/mixers including SebastiAn, Justice and Surkin to name a few. As Tiga puts it, “For most of the past 2 years, Boys Noize records have saved by life as a DJ.”

On Halloween 2009, Boys Noize will be summoning the most unholy of spirits via Santos Party House’s massive soundsystem, wringing all the energy he can out of every woofer and tweeter. Joining him will be FIXED party architects JDH and Dave P who consistently satisfy the most discerning of electro fiends. Your best bet is to dress up as someone who can rock.

Hocico, Life Cried and Panic Lift

HOCICO

We often hear the argument that musicians are conduits, and nowhere is this more apparent than with Hocico, who manage to sonically channel the gritty and tormented landscape of Mexico City. Now one of the leading worldwide names in aggrotech, Hocico began with cousins Eric Garcia and Oscar Mayorga messing around with a Casio and continuing to amass their acclaim as fast as they did their equipment. Their first homemade demo Misuse, Abuse and Accident earned their nationwide buzz despite a first pressing of only 30 copies. Eight albums later they have toured in spots as far and wide as Japan and London.

Garcia and Mayorga at one point tried hiring a guitar player but quickly learned that their music had no need. Though danceable and thoroughly synthesized, the fear and desolation in their work is distilled and unadulterated, with a piercing bilingual vocal to guide the music’s explorations of violence and sexual abuse. Metal Storm wrote of their 2001 album "Signos de Aberracion flows with its nocturnal pulse as one from its very first second until its last consuming your full attention as it drowns you in a world where the weak and the humiliated ones of nowadays' rotten society take control and take back what society has stolen from them, life.” On October 8, this globetrotting duo of darkness will be testing the limits of Santos Party House’s sound and light systems.
Hocico homepage

LIFE CRIED
Merging gothed-out electro foundation with aggrotech and noise rock, Life Cried of New Jersey are have created a seamless and driving that pummels you with disturbing samples and brutal percussion after it lulls you in with seductive melodies and grooves. Their second album Banished Pslams has been well-received; quoth the UK’s Sphere magazine, “It’s an exciting and brutal kind of Industrial that will please fans of dark-electro and black metal alike.”
Life Cried homepage

PANIC LIFT
A demonic take on industrial electornica, Panic Lift use pounding metallic sounds and buzz-saw synthlines to bolster and unrelentingly ferocious, screeching vocal. Only 3 years old, the group is conquering the New York industrial scene one Mohawk at a time. Their melodic sensibilities may lure you into a brief moment of complacency only to immediately dash it with a sonic assault.

HUMAN LIFE
Human Life, the musical project from Matt Wasley, Rachael Starr and Joshua Collins has created quite a buzz over the past year...
They all produce music. They all DJ. And they all sing (Matt and Rachael in the studio, Josh in the shower.) This talented trio hails from Los Angeles, California. There Human Life is part of a new breed of producers and DJs, inspired as much by sunshine and beaches as they are by the music heard coming from dark corners in downtown warehouses. Stealing their favorite elements (they’re not giving them back) from dance, indie rock, and global pop, HUMAN LIFE celebrates just that with cuts that range from dreamy pop to dancefloor storms. HUMAN LIFE looks to an edgy future while nodding to their influences from the past (Howard Jones, Mr. Fingers, Genesis,) and today (Switch and Daft Punk.)
